New England Hospital for Women and Children (second) is dedicated.

. . . Subsequently called the Zakrzewska Building, the brick building is designed in the High Victorian style and located at today’s 55 Dimock street (then Codman Avenue). The second hospital in the nation where women doctors treat women patients, its adjacent maternity ward offers the most hygienic setting of its time.
